Attendees registered to attend a tutorial on Sunday will have to show up at the St Martins Le Grand entrance since the main entrance is closed during the weekend. When you are facing the main entrance, you have to go right, around the building. We will of course stick some signs to help your orientation. but we recommend that you have a look at the map in advance. For Monday through Wednesday, admission to the workshop will be done via the main entrance on Newgate Street.
The registration desk will open every day at 8h30. You will first reach a desk where your registration will be checked and where you will be given your badge. To avoid long queues forming, you will then be directed to a second desk in the Foyer where you will collect your conference pack and your morning coffee. Please note that it will be much quicker to get in if you have registered before showing up. We will support on site registration but it is likely to be a painful process i.e. we will use this very web site to process your registration and you will have to queue at BT to be entered in their system for security reasons. In a nutshell, please register online before coming. Finally, for Health and Safety reasons, BT asked us to maintain a daily attendance sheet. Therefore, when you come in in the morning, make sure that your name is ticked at the first registration desk every day. Strictly speaking, you do not have to but... if there is a fire, we will not look for you.
On a more pleasant note, there will be a complimentary cloak room available. It does mean that no tipping is expected and that it would be badly perceived. I know that it sounds weird to our American colleagues but that is how it works in the UK apparently. And to finish with, please note that there is "soft" dressing code for the dinner at Guildhall i.e. business casual. You do not need to have a tuxedo or evening dress but it would be appreciated if you could avoid the heavy metal T-shirt and near dead jeans combo (although I like that).
To avoid any technical glitches, we are asking the speakers to exploit part of the 20 minutes break before their session to make sure that their presentation renders properly.
Well, I think that it is all folks. I might update this post if something important comes up.
See you next week in London.
